A key strength of the UW’s Business Analysis certificate program is its in-person structure and emphasis on fostering community among stakeholders. Shelly and Gary will share how they used breakout rooms to demonstrate and simulate in-person community.

It is no surprise that teaching is undergoing tremendous change and is requiring teachers to think outside of the box to drive engagement with students, peers and industry leaders. Jonah-Kai will share some of the tactics used to increase student engagement in the remote classroom.

Student Engagement through Group Activities
Teaching completely remote challenged Scott to find effective ways for groups to quickly bond and work together. Scott will share tips on developing engaging participatory activities, considering appropriate collaborative technologies, and configuring student groups to increase socialization and shared learning.
Steve Grierson and Tim Thibeau – Program Management
Re-Imagining the Classroom
The transition to remote teaching motivated Steve and Tim to imagine the virtual classroom with a fresh set of eyes. Steve and Tim will share their experience actively learning alongside students and peers while being vulnerable to the unknown opened new opportunities for education and growth.
